Kaylie looked up at the star fighter and sighed before she climbed up on it to start pulling parts off. "I don't know....I can maybe hack something together with it....enough to get us to an outpost or something. Maybe." She murmured before she slid back down and put her feet back down on the ground. "You any good at ship mechanics?" She asked as she moved around to the other side of the ship.

The thing that worried Kay was that she really hadn't even seen the outside damage yet, only the inside. "We don't have any hull breeches do we?" She asked him. Her gaze trailed to PT for a second before she looked back at the fighter. If worse came to worse, she could always pull the sheet metal off of the fighter to weld onto the hull temporarily.

["The emotional scars of battle always hide inside."]

He'd go up the ramp then stop to look at her. "I'll run a diagnostic." And proceeded into the cockpit where he would proceed with the course of action.

After the Jedi's continued attempts at repairing the engines, it still appears unfinished. Darwin and Artie both figured they probably need some more parts from Havoc's fighter, and that they'd have to land at the nearest outpost to have it properly fixed up. That would cost some money and time, of which neither Darwin or Kaylie really have at the moment. They had to pool their credits to buy this ship from an even crappier ship. Perhaps Havoc and his astromech could help out in that, however that's something they would have to worry about after they've managed to put the ship back together at least for a while.

The Jedi would decide to leave the engine room, and walk toward the cockpit because that's where he sensed Havoc at. He wanted to check to make sure they have all the necessary parts. "Do we have enough to take off?"

Kaylie continued to yank parts off of the star fighter as Havoc went on board to check to see if there were any hull breeches. The easiest way would have been to walk around the freighter and check the outside. She slid off of the wing of the fighter and started to walk around the larger ship.

["One thing about machines... you can push them farther then what their programming will allow."]

As Darwin would round the corner, he would see the Jedi staring at the computer monitor, rubbing his chin the process. The computer screen would display the ship's outer hulls and determine whether or not there were any breaches to it. Sighing some, he looked at Darwin and nodded some. "Well... according to your computer and diagnostics, we have enough to reach the nearest starport for repairs. " He rose and looked at Darwin. "It's your call, but I suggest we round up Kaylie and get off this planet. We've spent too much time here, and we are not safe on a planet where only creatures live." Positioning himself, he took the pilot's seat. "If may be my old war paranoia, but I don't like the fact we're here... when we could be blending in with the people."

Darwin nodded back, "Then it looks like we're getting off this planet. There's got to be a lot of hungry creatures around here." The Jedi decided to sit on the co-pilot's chair, wasting no time in helping Havoc prepare for the take off. "I don't like it here neither. We've painted ourselves a target for the Imps to shoot at. Let's go." Darwin sat straight up, putting his right hand on a button that would rev the ship up. Hopefully, they really do have enough to get to the nearest starport.

Kaylie was still outside when she felt the ground shudder and heard the engines sputter patetically to life. It had been her opinion that there could have been damaged sensors and there could be tears in the hull that they didn't know about. A light sigh escaped her lips as she started back towards the ramp to board the ship. Once back on board, she raised the ramp and secured it before she went back to the engine room to get back to work. She wasn't confident that the thing would fly, let alone make it too far. But she didn't even bother going to the cockpit to voice her opinion on that. Thy would find out soon enough either way.

["The rule of thumb about broken items... keep breaking them till it works."]

From the rumble of the vessel, Havoc could tell the Engine was good to go... even if it was about to fall apart. Programming a destination, he gripped the controls and would slowly pull back on it, allowing the ship to hover momentarily. Raising the landing gears, he turned to Darwin. "What do we know that is close?" Because to be honest, Havoc had no idea about anything in this system.

Darwin had let out a heavy sigh, looking at Havoc. The Jedi wasn't entirely confident in the ship, but they had put in a lot of work. Perhaps a little bit too much work to just halt everything at the last moment. He had double checked for a moment to ensure that both astromech droids were on board. He didn't need to check whether Kaylie was on board or not, due to the fact that his girlfriend had raised the ramp up in order to seal the ship from outside exposure. The Jedi felt the ship hover for a moment and continue to do so.

Once Havoc asked him the ultimate question: What do they know that is close? Before he answered, he had ordered Artie to go to the engine room in order to ensure that the engine wouldn't fall apart before they hit the nearest starport. Then he proceeded to rest his hand on a separate part of the console in front of him. He was accessing the databank, using the search engine to locate the nearest starport. He had set the search based on the nearest distance. After a few moments had passed, the console beeped. He looked down once again, and shifted his focus to Havoc once again.

"I don't know whether you're going to like it or not, but the nearest starport is..." The Jedi Padawan decided to clear his throat a little bit, before speaking once again. "on Romar, the sector capital of Galov Sector. It's a wasteland. That isn't the worst part. The worst part means we'll probably need to travel in hyperspace for a brief time in order to reach there. It's a risk, but I believe it's a risk worth taking. I already sent my astromech to the engine room, you probably should do the same thing to your droid. The more that keep the engines from falling apart, the better."

Darwin decided to stay in his seat, so that he could help Havoc steer the ship.

Kaylie did what she could in the engine room, though there wasn't much that she could do until she got some proper replacement parts. At the moment though, she still ached a little, despite the Jedi healing that Havoc worked on her. She wandered up to the cockpit. "Hey Dar....I think she'll hold until we get to the nearest outpost....I'm going to lay down a while.' It was written all over her expression that she was feeling a little less than stellar.

["We proceeded off the planet... but not before catching one final glimpse of the mess we made."]

As Darwin would mention the location, Havoc would send his astromech droid to go assist in the engine room. The controls rumbled violently as they proceeded through the planet. Programming the hyperspace route, he noted. "Everyone hold on." The ship's engines would power up, causing more a violent rumble in the cockpit. Pulling down the lever, the ship would manage to make hyperspace...

The Jedi looked at Kaylie for a moment, but knew that every moment counts. He wasn't going to waste valuable time, so Darwin decided to respond almost right away. "Kay, you'd better get to your quarters as quickly as you can. I don't want to see you get hurt. Go in there and buckle down until everything calms down." It was more of an order than a suggestion, obviously. He didn't like ordering Kaylie around, but he had no time to argue. Darwin turned his focus back on both Havoc and the ship.

The ship had been rumbling ever since it took off, and it wasn't the usual rocking the freighter went through every time it flies. Indeed, it managed to accomplish a hyperspace travel. However, Darwin didn't want to leave things to chance. He would check up on Kaylie when everything works out, but for now he remained inside the cockpit. The Jedi wanted to be there in case something happened while they were in hyperspace en route to Romar. Even if they were to make it to the designated system, they had another thing to worry about.

Way before Havoc and his astromech droid hitched ride, the freighter took critical damage while they were fleeing from a squadron of TIE fighters. That's how they got into this predicament in first place. Which led Darwin to turn his head in order to look at Havoc, "Know anything about changing the ship's ID signature? If there's Imperial presence on Romar, we'd be flying in as a target." Usually, Darwin pays a slicer to change the ship's ID signature. That wasn't the case this time around. If the famed Jedi Knight doesn't know, then hopefully one of the astromech droids will. Maybe Kaylie know how to as well, but she isn't in condition to be walking around.

Kaylie had already started walking away when Darwin told her to go to her quarters. She was, in fact, halfway there. "Thanks." The mechanic called back to him, without turning around to even look at him. She was just tired and didn't want to think about the ship anymore, despite the fact that it was feeling like it was ready to rattle itself apart.

Kay climbed into Dar's bed and curled up, wincing a little as she heard some rattling from the ship that didn't sound so good. Instead of worrying, she just tried not to think about it and get some rest.

An hour later...

Havoc seemed preoccupied with keeping the ship flying, which led Darwin to assuming that the famed Jedi didn't know how to change ship's ID signature. The crew didn't have any luck in figuring out a way on how to create a fake ID signature. Artie and Havoc's astromech droid continued to maintain the engines in one piece. That was good for now. He had sensed Kaylie still curling up on his bed, she was fine for now. Things were going alright, despite how rough of a shape the ship was in. The only thing not going well for them right now is not coming up with a fake ID signature.

There was a loud beeping sound coming from the console. The ship had indicated that they were entering Romar System. The Jedi had let out a heavy sigh, seeing how Havoc was still preoccupied with keeping the ship flyable. Right away, he punched the ship out of hyperspace. Darwin was concerned they would be detected by the Imperials, if there indeed is a presence on Romar. He doesn't know much about the planet, though.

The Jedi opted to stay positive, as the ship was approaching the Sector capital. He went ahead and sent the landing clearance, hoping to receive permission. They needed parts badly for the ship if it hopes to fly again. Another option is to ditch the light freighter and look for alternate means of transportation off world.

(Was expecting a new thread...)

["The easiest thing about the human mind... it will believe whatever sounds good."]

Sadly for Darwin, Havoc had been multi-tasking. While it appeared that he was keeping the ship from falling apart, he was also messing around the ID, registering it under the Government of Dantooine's code. If anyone asked, the ship came under attack from pirates as it was making a pass. He turned towards Darwin and nodded. "You really need to relax." Spoke Havoc as he piloted the vessel. Emotions and body language gave a lot about a person.
