| Beneath the Sergeant's visor, his eyes narrowed as he stepped into the door way and regarded Maximov. The stormtrooper behind the Sergeant looked over his shoulder at the rest of the room, in case someone else was hiding inside, while the third one remained outside, watching to see if anyone went out through a window. He was close by, however. The Sergeant, though, seemed convinced that this was indeed the man they had seen enter the Senator's home. The "bounty hunter," as the Senator had explained. He was a stormtrooper, not an inspector, and it wasn't his job to ask questions. However, it did occur to him that if the Senator wasn't telling the truth, he wasn't likely to pick up on it since she was, after all, a politician. After a moment's pause, he said to the bounty hunter, "Identification, please." Assuming everything seemed to be in order, the stormtroopers would have no choice but to leave.

| The GenoHaradan had provided flawless identification for the identities that Maximov utilized. A flick of his right hand, having come off the grip of the GRS-1 when the Sergeant entered, brought his papers to hand. Shiv Rennick, bounty hunter extraordinaire, bowed slightly as he handed the papers over. The lightsabers, hanging at his back and under his cloak, would be invisible from this view. "O course, Sergeant. I fear though that my employment might come to an abrupt end for my lack of being here. Then again, even as the Senator's guardsman, I can do little but accept the wrath of an Imperial agent."

| "Sorry to hear that," the Sergeant said absently as he studied the identification documents. He looked from the documents to Maximov, then back to the documents. "Everything seems to be in order," he said, then an idea occurred to him. He glanced to Ilanah. "Senator," he said, still holding the identification, "What is this man's name, again?"

| Ilanah looked between all of them. She was stunned by Dimitri's act, so much so that she nearly missed the question when the Sergeant asked her what the bounty hunters name was. In the few minutes that they had been playing at this ruse, she had wondered what his intentions truly were. "Oh uh...Mr....uhm...Sorry....Mr. Rennick." She stumbled, likely because he had caught her off guard with the question about Dimitri's cover name. "Shiv Rennick." Ilanah offered a little smile. "Are we about finished here, Gentlemen?"

| The Senator was an admirable woman, minus her slip of the tongue there. Of course, after what she'd been through in the last few hours, her courage and the fact that she had not imply fainted put her in a class of her own. Maximov had suspected she was made of sterner stuff, and this simply proved it. Still, the chance existed that he might have to make a run for it. Those preparations were in order. It was the thought of what would happen to the stormtroopers that was the issue. Oh, to be sure, Maximov was more alive in fighting than anytime else, but he did not kill needlessly. He was no mindless beast to kill or no reason, but he'd already planned his moves. The sergeant, oddly perhaps, would be the second man to die if the time came.

| Beneath his helmet, the Sergeant raised an eyebrow. Something didn't seem right to him, but a slip of the tongue wasn't enough to waste this Senator's time. The word from Imperial Center recently was that personnel needed to be especially courteous to public officials. I would think keeping them alive is more important, the Sergeant thought to himself. "Yes, Ma'am," he said, and reached out to 'Shiv Rennick' to hand the identification back to him when, at that moment, he heard a voice in his ear bud. It was one of the other stormtroopers, alongside the house. He listened intently, and his grip suddenly tightened on the identification as Maximov grasped it. The Sergeant, who already had one hand a bit formally behind his back, knocked softly on the plasteel armor of his back to get the attention of the stormtroopers behind him. He signaled them, quickly; three fingers, two fingers, one finger, a clenched fist, then back to three fingers and held it. The other troopers began to grasp their weapons, discreetly. The Sergeant released the identification, then signaled two fingers to the troopers behind him. "One more thing, Mr. Rennick," he said, then signaled one finger. "Are you aware that the speeder you're piloting is stolen?"

| Ilanah thought at that moment that all was well, and since she had played along with his game, Dimitri would tell her something. Perhaps give her more information than just a threat of death as he had earlier when she asked a question. "Well then if everything is order...." She started calmly before the Sergeant spoke again. Her gaze went to Dimitri as the stormtrooper questioned him about the speeder, and she paled a little. This didn't seem like it would end well.

| Maximov had the grace to look sheepish as he shrugged slightly. "My apologies, Sergeant, but borrowed would be better than stolen by a long shot. As you can see by my employer's wealth, I have little need to steal a speeder. When her distress call came to me, I acted in haste without thinking and hopped the first speeder to come to her aid. I did not know it was an Imperial agent and acted in her best interests. I am more than willing to pay the owner a compensation fee from my own pocket. I'm sure, as your men can verify, that the keys were left in the vehicle, as they are in the ignition now, and there is no damage. "I assure you, Sergeant, that I am no thief." The soft rap on the door had not been missed by Maximov's sharp ears, but he kept his posture relaxed. He would have liked more time to speak to the Senator, but odds were that this particular meeting was going to be cut short. His superiors in the GenoHaradan weren't likely to be pleased by the lack of answers he'd gleaned from Ilanah. If he could pull out of here without an issue now... well, that would be nice. Either way, a matter of minutes from now, it would be a moot point either way if he did not gain access to his datapad and punch in a sequence.

| The Sergeant's eyes narrowed, and he held the one finger behind his back for a long, long moment. Then he opened his hand, palm facing out. The other stormtroopers relaxed. "As you were, Mr. Rennick," the Sergeant said, then glanced to Ilanah. "Sorry to disturb you, Senator," he said, "Again. I really must advise you to keep security on hand, though. No offense to Mr. Rennick, but Chandrila can provide you better, and so can the Empire. Good evening." He nodded to her, turned, and made to leave. The other stormtroopers followed him, keeping an eye out behind them in case 'Rennick' tried anything.

| The Senator offered a warm smile as she showed the stormtroopers to the door. "I will keep that in mind, Sergeant. Would you please pass on my gratitude to the Moff for sending you all the way out here to check on me? I imagine that Rainier called in a favor...." She was assuming, for what other reason would a bunch of stormtroopers just randomly show up? No reason that she could think of. Besides, Brandt had been the only person she had contacted regarding her special visitor earlier in the day. She closed and locked the door behind them and lingered there for a moment to mull over what she was going to say to Dimitri now. Ilanah rested her hands on the door and the frame for a moment before she finally turned. "I am going to need some answers, Mr. Rennick." She said, albeit a little sarcastically, as that alibi was the only name she knew for him. "What are you really doing here?"

| The Senator had done him a favor. Perhaps it had been in her own self-interest, but Maximov was a creature of balance, and a favor as such needed to be repaid to keep the balance straight, at least in his eyes. He peered from the windows, ensuring the stormtroopers had departed, or at least had not left any beings nearby close enough with spying devices before looking over to Ilanah. Despite their relative privacy, he kept his voice low. "Shiv Rennick is indeed a bounty hunter, as I am, but the form beneath the form is Dimitri Maximov, assassin and one of the many balance-keepers in the galaxy. Your husband was taken to the Inquisitorious in a very public manner. It leads me to believe that, despite their tortures, he is a fake. A fake Inquisitor who has managed to fool those who rule from Prakith. We have no informants in the Inquisitorious, Senator, or few enough that my superiors would like another. Your husband has been selected to be that man. I need to reach him so that I might make overtures." As he spoke, he quickly tapped in a command to the datapad.

| The three stormtroopers had met up with the other four and all of them moved down the street to congregate beside their parked RTT and re-assess the situation. They couldn't be easily seen from the house, but the house—and Maximov's speeder—could be seen to them through a pair of electrobinoculars. Not heard, though. The Sergeant didn't trust 'Rennick' at all, and told the others so. They ran a background check on 'Shiv Rennick,' down to every bounty he'd ever collected. They pulled an image of him, too, and none of them could decide if he looked like the man they'd seen or not. In any case, they alerted the Chandrila garrison to a potential security threat to the Senator, and requested the warrant on the stolen speeder be suspended for the time being while they kept an eye on things, and pursued 'Rennick' when he left, if possible. Then things would become quiet, as they watched and waited. (( I'll sit out on the posting order for the next few rounds if that's okay, until Dimitri leaves. ))

| The Senator allowed a light laugh to pass her rose tinged lips when he told her what he trully wanted. "How do I know, Mr. Maximov, that you are truly what you say you are? You could simply be an agent of the Empire, like that Inquisitor, come here to investigate. I will tell you what I told him; I am a loyal servant of the Empire as is my husband. I serve for the best interests of Chandrila and its people...because I have to." She wondered if he would catch the subtle hint in her tone of voice. If he didn't, then this meeting would likely go no further, and it was likely that the bodies of the stormtroopers she could still see out the window would soon be scattered on her lawn. That would be most unfortunate, indeed. If he wanted the truth, he would have to do something to make her trust him. Gaining her trust, especially after her earlier visit, was not an easy task. Either way, the stormtroopers outside would be relentless and if they found Maximov to be even the slightest bit suspicious, she could risk being implicated too. She was nervous, but she fought to hide it. It was a difficult situation to be in, that was for sure. "Why do you think a Sith would join you anyway? It seems a bit risky to me." She said quietly. "For him." More than anything, if she found that she could trust this man, she did not want Kal to end up getting hurt.

| Maximov smiled, more of a smirk, at the inflection on her words. That she compared him to the Inquisitor alone amused him; tickled him pink in fact. She could not have known that he recognized the Inquisitor by the feel of him; he was the same bumbler who Maximov had foiled on Coruscant. Coruscant. He chuckled slightly, thinking of the obsequious nature of calling it 'Imperial Center.' How... quaint. "Your inquisitive Inquisitor visitor was a fool on Coruscant. He came here likely to make up for the mistake of bumbling there, where he tried to take down a fleeing Force-user. I... tied him up, shall we say, and took the man he sought off-planet. I keep the balance, Senator. Prove myself? I suppose you'll just have to trust me. After all, we are each indebted to each other at least once. I spared your life... and you lied to save mine. "Your husband is not likely a Sith, no matter what he told you. There are only two Sith known to us in this galaxy... and their identities are not for you. A Dark Jedi? That is more likely. Perhaps a Jedi faking being a Dark Jedi to keep his wife safe."

| When Dimitri told her of the incident on Imperial Center, she remembered her meeting win Kenas Annig and wondered briefly if he was who was being referred to. She hadn't heard from him since the day of the bombing. Before she could think about it, she spoke. "Was it Kenas? " Immediately she knew she had slipped, so she tried to cover. "I mean....I heard there was a Jedi loose and his name was mentioned, is all...." She switched gears quickly. "Yes, dark jedi...forgive my ignorance regarding all of that. I hardly know anything about it. " She said quietly as she peeked out the window again. Idly, she wondered how he knew what Kal was doing for her. It was a lucky guess on his part, certainly. She wished Kal was home. It would have made this easier.
