Meeting with Tremaine Fowlkes

| (( For the record, here by invite and assuming this takes place after the events of 'Triumphant Arrival.'))
Whether or not Kal Thanatos would ever truly have to answer his wife's question might well be postponed by the heavy knock upon their front door. Outside, flanked by two of his red-armored Purifiers, Rath Deschain awaited entry into the Thanatos household. He'd come as soon as he could, after delivering Mika Jeebs to Imperial custody and his personal shuttle sat not far out of the Thanatos estate, likely to the chagrin of the gardeners as he landed quite unceremoniously upon several flower beds. One look at his holographically-hidden face was likely to discourage any comment.
Imperial Center records had placed Kal at his residence on Chandrila and it was quite fortunate for Tremaine that Deschain had missed the Senator. Now, however, Deschain was in full motion when it came to plans and he wanted every asset available.

| Kal had stopped right inside the doorway of the living room, frozen by Lana's question. His head tilted down, looking at the lightsaber hilt that was tightly grasped in his hand. He looked back up at her, just as Riley was sneaking his way out of the room, "Lana...I..." Before he could finish, there was a heavy knock at the front door. Kal spun around, knowing full well just who would be on the other side of the door. He darted from the living room, grabbing the parcel off of the floor and quickly opening the door, coming face to face, so to speak, with the High Inquisitor and two of his Purifiers.
Kal would acknowledge his superior by giving him a nod and moving to the side, then motioning for him to come into their house, "Is there something wrong, sir?"

| She heard the knock at the door too, but was furious that he refused to answer, especially when she had already caught him in a lie. "Kal let the maid get it..." She said as she stormed after him. Of course she stopped short when she saw the figures at her front door. Her home was a wreck from the harrowing experience with the now former Senator.
Quickly, she wiped her eyes with her fingertips and straightened her disheveled hair. Sir? Oh...while she wasn't quite sure who he was, Ilanah was somewhat sure that it was who Kal worked for, and that meant more answers to fill the hazy gaps in her memory.

| Deschain entered, leaving his retinue outside to prevent further entry by any forces. He took in the blaster damage to the house, as well as Thanatos' wife, who looked as if she'd gone through a ringer. "Redecorating, Inquisitor? I can hardly say the taste suits Chandrila's normal patterns. That's neither here nor there. I have information and we will need to move quite quickly. Don't bother sending your wife away. She should hear what we have to say.
"I have returned from a mission just this day; a successful mission I might add that has led to the capture of several most wanted fugitives including a Jedi. Furthermore, it has netted me a name: Tremaine Fowlkes, the leader of the rebel group known as the Libs. Your wife is a senator; she should have access to the man. Perhaps we can use her to lure the treacherous Telosian into a trap." Deschain looked around once again. "Dare I ask what caused your house to be in this state, Inquisitor Thanatos?"

| A small smirk came across his face as the High Inquisitor spoke a name to him, Tremaine Fowlkes. Kal wanted to give him the 'I told you so' look and would've if there wasn't a serious vibe about this meeting. The next thing out of Deschain's hidden mouth was something he had already thought of himself, using Lana to trap Tremaine. That was the intention of the night that was supposed to have happened.
Kal would look down at the parcel in his arm and over to Lana. He wasn't sure if he should continue on, but knew he had to. His head turned back to his superior, nodding, "Well, what if I were to tell you the same man that you were after was the same man that did this to our house? I have the proof that I told you I would retrieve, as well as proof that he was behind all of this. Now, you may ask, why was he here in the first place...well, I too had the idea of luring him into a trap. He had always been suspicious about me, and obviously for a reason."
He would glance to Lana, not knowing just how she would end up taking all of this, then proceeded to continue as he would turn back to Deschain, "I would like to say that I was successful in capturing him, but I wasn't. He escaped before I was able to detain him and his fiance. Speaking of which, if we are able to track her down, I know that we will be able to easily find him..."

| Ilanah blinked slowly as she looked between the pair briefly. Tremaine had been right about Kal, it seemed. And this masked man at the door had to be an Inquisitor as well. She felt a sharp pain in her chest and squeezed her eyes shut briefly before she looked to them both again. The plasticine card Tremaine had given her was still in her hand, but she curled it into her palm for the moment.

| "He was here to see your wife." Deschain's voice was cold now. Trap or not, that meant that Fowlkes had to have some trust with Ilanah. It was nothing against her; if Fowlkes had been caught on Druckenwell, Deschain would have suspected Ryuun just as quickly. "It seems from your wife's reaction that she doesn't quite know what you do. Allow me to praise you on your husband, Senator Thanatos. He's been a loyal servant of the Empire ever since I brought him in. He's quite an apt pupil.
"So your plan failed, as you said, but if we have enough to go on, then we can track him. His fiance is indeed a weak spot. Women are like poison to men. Tell me, Senator Thanatos... how well do you know Fowlkes?"

| She seemed more than uncertain now that the masked Inquisitor was speaking directly to her. The truth was that she didn't know the answers to the questions he asked. She also wasn't sure about what he was saying about Kal being loyal to the Empire. Wasn't she loyal to the Empire? Was he implying otherwise?
A frown crossed her face briefly. "I....I don't really....I don't know....they told me he was my friend and he told me he was, but...." Her gaze went to Kal for help for a split second, though she knew that there was no way he could. "I don't remember." She didn't remember dating the man, or the Libs, or Jules. She didn't remember much at all from the last few years.
"He uh...." Ilanah looked to Kal again for a moment, searching his gaze. "He told me I shouldn't stay with Kal and needed to be protected." She finally said, confused some, as she uncurled her hand around the now rolled up card.

| "A likely story. Fowlkes is an insurgent and a liar. You are more safe with Inquisitor Thanatos than with almost any other man." His gaze was drawn to the slip of paper in her hand. "What do you have there?" He had no knowledge of her amnesia, but for the moment it was forgotten.

| Ilanah ignored him for the moment and found herself looking to Kal again. "I don't know if I am or not. Am I?" she directed the question to her husband, not Deschain. Her thoughts turned to Jalaila, that woman that showed up to see Kal. "You won't hurt her, will you?" She asked the both of them, as she handed Tremaine's card to Kal. At that point, she wanted nothing to do with the former Senator.

| Even as the item was being handed over, Deschain would snatch out with the Force, doing his best to quickly pull the item to his own hand. "If you are referring to Fowlkes' fiance, then she will only be as harmed as she chooses. This is the safety and security of the Empire we are speaking of here, Senator, and I will remind you of that fact. Nobody is above pain of death. Not you or your husband or even myself. We are the guardians of the Empire's halls and it is because of men like myself and your husband that the Jedi scourge do not rise up to sweep down upon your peaceful world and burn it to ash."

| He could have asked, but of course since he could use the force, he would. Otherwise she likely would have given him the card with the right words. At that point, she wasn't sure who to believe. The man who swore he was a friend, or the husband who lied to her.
"I am going to go and check on Caden. Kal....". Ilanah said, giving him a look. "We still need to talk. Is that alright with you, Inquisitor?". She finally turned her gaze back to Deshain.

| What Ilanah didn't consider was that between the man who'd said he was a friend and a husband who had lied to her, albeit to keep her safe, stood the dark, brooding figure of Rath Deschain who embodied the evils of the Empire in the form of a man who appeared so brainwashed by the Imperial ideals that all he could see was the Imperial form of justice. This same man would have condemned and executed both Ilanah and her husband in the blink of an eye had proof of guilt fallen across them, but in this regard they were safe.
"Go do what you must, Senator." It did not seem so long ago that he'd violently choked Senator Star of Volus half to death for possible betrayal. "I will remain here with your husband."

| While he was silent during the little conversation between Deschain and Lana, Kal was making sure to pay attention mainly to his wife. He knew that her mind was pretty messed up from the accident, and he could see that she was starting to become a little uneasy about this. It was something they had to do though. As much as it would probably bother her, he knew for the greater good, they had to go after Tremaine and his fiance.
He would give her a nod as she told him she needed to go check on Caden. He looked back to the High Inquisitor, waiting till he would address her and then for her to leave, then would continue discussing things with him.
"I've interrogated his fiance before. She's deathly terrified of me and will be of you as well. Our problem is finding out where they went to after their departure from here..."

| As Ilanah moved off, Deschain turned to better address Thanatos. "If you've interrogated her before, then you should be able to find her again. Locate her through the Force; if we're lucky, it won't have been so long for your imprint on her to fade, if you touched her with the Force, that is. If that doesn't succeed, seek the trackers within the Inquisitorious and glean her location. If Fowlkes finds her and gets her to a Jedi before you do, we'll have one hell a time locating his fiance. I will leave this task to you, but I will certainly be on hand if you need aid. I have a few matters of my own to settle."
