| "Kal, I am so sorry....." Lana murmured as soon as the two were finally alone. "He is not the kind of man that a person says no to....and I am glad that I did not try that today." The situation was weighing heavily on her mind. Tremaine was in trouble and he had pushed her into the line of fire, she was sure because he knew that Lana would be able to buy him more time with Brandt. That was not going to be the case, however, this time. She would tell him when they met. For now, she turned all of her concentrated energy to Kal.
"Please don't be angry." She asked as she moved closer and laced her fingers with his. "Please?" Lana gave him a slight smile, one that she hoped would melt away any anger that he might still have because of her disappearance. At least, she thought, she hadn't been gone that long. A moment later, she pulled away from him and trailed her fingers through her sleek locks s she moved to the window.
"I told him you were my new guard. I thought that this would be easy....us being apart....but it hasn't been. Really." She admitted as she stared out into the glittering night. The lights of Coruscant were beautiful, she had always thought so, but she missed the sweet serenity of Chandrila more than anything. "So maybe that cover will be able to keep you with me for a little longer."

| "Sorry, Lana!? I come back and you are gone, on top of that you left Riley. I don't care if it was the Emperor himself, Lana...you've been threatened once already, who's to stop it from happening again if neither him or I are there?" His breathing had quickened just from the little speak he had given her. It wasn't him being angry, just frustrated and worried all wrapped up into one giant ball within.
"I'm not angry..." He quickly stopped as she laced her fingers with his. She knew exactly how to calm the beast that lived within him. It had been a while since they both had a chance to be with each other. His eyes followed as she pulled away from him, moving across to the window telling him about the cover that he was now given while on the Imperial Center.
"Good. Very good cover. That makes me feel better, now knowing that I can be everywhere that you go." He would smile for a moment as he glanced from her to Riley and then back to her, "Maybe you should give him some time to relax and fully recover, no?"

| Lana nodded in agreement. "Riley can go back to the apartment and rest." She said as she crossed the room to her long time guard, and friend, and rested her hand on his arm. "You know I will be fine." She reassured him quietly. Though he would never admit it, Riley knew that she would be safer with Kal than with him, but that didn't stop him from being as protective as ever.
"Of course, my lady." Riley said before he excused himself. Ilanah watched him go and when the door shut behind him, she finally turned her attention back to her spouse.
She would watch him silently for a moment. "I thought it was a good idea, Kal. I just....the last time was too long. I need you." She needed him more than she thought she did. "We need you actually." Ilanah admitted. A small smile crept across her face as she watched him.

| It was just as Riley had walked away out of the room, the two of them were finally alone after who knows how long. Kal would move closer to her, closing the gap between the two of them.
"I know...I know you two do. I'm sorry I didn't truly express my excitement before we left when you hinted at it." He would come up and place his hands on her hips, looking into her eyes, "Caden...that will be his name."
He was sure that she would have been confused for a moment, but once he was able to fully tell her what he meant, it would all make sense.

| She looked up at him, her eyes narrowed slightly as she listened to him speak. "It's entirely too soon to te....." Ilanah paused for a moment. "Oh. Oh! Really?" She smirked a little. "Caden." She tried the name out first. "I think that will work." a small smile crossed her lips before she pushed herself up onto her toes and gave him no more than a light kiss.
"You're happy?" She questioned, after she dropped back down to her normal height. Nimbly, she smoothed the collar of Kal's shirt with her fingertips. The question was an important one to her. And yes, she was happy, for the most part. She had only been back on Coruscant for an hour, and already she longed for home.

| A smile came to his face as he could almost see as her mind finally realized what he was saying. The name was perfect for their soon to be son. He would return the light kiss as she came up to give it to him. Just the touch of her lips on his lifted any bad thoughts that he had about them being here on Coruscant.
"Of course I'm happy. I couldn't be happier right now. I've got you back in my life, and now a son on the way. There's just one more thing, and our life would be perfect." He said before he would pause a moment as he looked deep into her eyes.
"You and I, and Caden, living our lives without fear. Fear of someone, or something potentially harming us. I'm tired of living in fear. Living everyday not knowing when this nightmare the galaxy is under will be over." He would softly and passionately tell her.

| His last words hit her hard, and the reality of their situation was like a kick in the gut. Part of her wished she had never become a senator, but she loved her work and she loved helping her people. They hated her though, she knew that, but she also knew that her act in the Senate was what was best for them. They didn't know that, however.
The part of her that wished she wasn't a senator though, that part knew that had Kal come back into her life in that situation, they wouldn't be under constant scrutiny and they wouldn't constantly be worried about someone finding out. They were going to eventually though, not that they were doing anything wrong...publicly, that is.
"I want that too. More than you know. Just a quiet life on Chandrila." She said, unsure if he would really care where they lived. Finally, she leaned close and laid her head against his chest. "One day, maybe. Until then...." Ilanah trailed off and glanced up at him. "We either have to deal with it or stay apart, right?" The second part was not an option in her mind.

| Just a quiet life on Chandrila was music to his ears. If only there was a way for them to make that happen, he would make sure he did all he could. It was as if a switch flipped inside him. He looked at her once she was finished. She felt that there were only two choices that they had, either deal with it, or stay apart. Just like for her, the second wasn't even an option. He shook his head to her question, as he answered her.
"No. That's not all we can do. We will never be apart again, and we will not just sit by quietly and deal with it, Lana. You are already making a difference, and together we can increase the effectiveness of that difference that you've begun. We both have high influence, and why not use it to our benefits? We both want a better life for us and our son." He ended it with placing his hand on her stomach, where the tiny little baby was slowly growing.

| It had been a while since he had seen Ilanah. Of course, he had been really busy between working on his everyday Senatorial duties and secretly putting things together for his secret rebellion against the Empire. The Libs were growing every day, and so were their influence. The Senator was happy with that, but he knew that he has to continue to be careful. Pretty soon, the Libs would attract the attention of the Empire with their upcoming campaigns. Yes, more than one campaigns that's going to happen and is already happening.
Tremaine thought it would be better to inform his good friend on the updates of the Libs, plus she told him she needed to talk. So he was really killing two birds with one stone. The Telosian didn't want to attract much attention, so he didn't take the speeder he usually takes to the Senate Rotunda. He opted to use his personal speeder, with a couple of bodyguards sitting in the passenger seats. Yes, Tremaine was the driver. He usually is, so that his bodyguards would have an easier time protecting him from danger, should it arise.
Each bodyguard were armed with a C-10 Dragoneye Reaper. No usual bodyguards were equipped with those. They were gifts from Tremaine, a token of appreciation on how good of a job they do on protecting him. Obviously, the Senator got his hands on a such model in the Outer Rim...where he travels constantly. Meanwhile, the Senator had a Blackhand Annihilator hidden away inside his jacket, It was a standard procedures for a Telosian Senator to use, and there's always a danger of the Empire finding out about him being a rebel. His weapons of choice was certainly interesting, he wasn't using Imperial weaponry due to the fact they were restricted to stormtroopers and Imperial agents. He was also out of his usual Senatorial "uniform." Rather, his jacket covered a white t-shirt and partially covered a black jeans. The Telosian was wearing a hat as well, making himself look more like a nobody rather than a Senator.
The speeder would make its way toward the residence of Lana's on the Imperial Center. Personally, Tremaine prefers to call it Coruscant. He knew he couldn't do that in public anyway. In addition to the weapons, Tremaine brought a small, portable craft inside his pocket. It was going to be an useful gift to Lana...well, both her and her Inquisitor husband. The Telosian doesn't wholly trust the Inquisitor, but with his good friend's reassurances...he would trust in her word. He pulled the speeder to a nearby parking spot. The trio would get off, walking up to the door.
The man knocked lightly on the door, waiting for his friend to answer. He shifted his hat a little bit so she would be able to see it was Tremaine.

| She nodded slowly, having already known that would be his choice. "I have to be so careful, Kal. I hate this. " There was something about it all that was making it worth it though. Him and Caden mostly. Slowly she turned over her thoughs as she rested her hands on top of his.
"Im sorry...it was just a moment. You're right, of course. " She offered a light smile and patted his hand gently with her own. "I shouldn't worry...I have enough other things to deal with. It will work out." Ilanah was trying to reassure herself. It was easier to do with him there. When he wasn't, she was usually doubting herself.
When the knock on the door came, she sighed. "Now what?" She murmured to him before she went to open it, then narrowed her eyes when she saw who it was.

| All he could get in was a small nod of the head before there was a knock at the door, interrupting them. He would wait to pick this conversation back up once they had their chance to. In his mind, he knew that she had to keep the facade going with her being a little precious Senator. Him, on the other hand, would be able to masquerade as her new guard and potentially help her and her cause out even further.
He had to agree. Now what? A small sigh came from his mouth as his attention turned to the door, where she was now beginning to open. He didn't like the feeling of this at all. The man behind there seemed to affect Lana's emotions more than a normal person should have.

There's something we need to talk about. May I come in?" That was all the Telosian would speak, waiting for her to allow him inside.

| "Oh there is something I need to talk to you about too, Tremaine." She said as she stepped aside to let him step in, and then shut the door behind him. As soon as he was safely inside, she moved back to Kal, hoping he would be able to calm.her down. She was really upset about Brandt still. "Tremaine, this is Kal Thanatos."
"I haven't quite figure out why Rainier Brandt would pick me up at the spaceport and ask me about your finances, Tremaine. Wait, no, he said that you told.him to ask me. " Lana paused for a moment and drew in a deep.breath. "I tried to grow him off.of.you, but he is suspisious. Very suspisious. And you know he will keep digging....and put us in more jeopardy." She said softly. "I don't know what else to do, but he said he made you an offer to make this go away. Whatever it was...I think you should take it. He didn't tell me what it was." She would stop then, and wait for his response.

| As he was introduced to this man that was obviously interrupting them, Kal would just give them man a nod. He knew exactly who this Tremaine was. Being smart, Kal decided to remain quiet until he felt that he would need to jump it.
He was interested in knowing what the deal was that Lana was talking about. It was interesting that there could have been a possible deal with a Moff. If someone were to fully exploit things like this, they could get the ball in their court, so to say. They were only senators however.

| Tremaine would step inside, and nodded his head lightly out of respect when Lana introduced Kal. "It's nice to finally meet you in person, Mr. Thanatos." The Senator immediately turned his attention back to her, listening in to what she had to say. Obviously, she had intended to speak up first. He didn't mind at all, as he figured it might be about Moff Brandt. The man was right. He would let out a deep sigh before speaking once again. "First of all, I apologize. I knew the Moff was smitten with you. I thought maybe you would be able to buy ourselves some time. You did, even if he didn't believe you."
The Senator would walk toward the window, witnessing the beautiful view of nighttime Coruscant. Oops, he meant Imperial Center. "He saw the gaping holes and inconsistencies in the checkbook of Loyalist Gas Mining Corp. He simply thought I was a corrupt Senator, and that if I gave him the amount of credits he wanted...it would go away. I defected him to you because it would buy myself time. I wasn't sure whether to pay him or not, because if I do pay him...he could end up turning that against me later in the future anyway. That was the reason why I resisted in the first place, Lana."
The Telosian cleared his throat before speaking once again, "I should have checked this with you first, but the Moff caught me off guard. Maybe you're right, I should give that scumbag what he wants."
