| "That's enough of that." Stark's voice was ice-cold for a moment and for that briefest of instants, he was neither Alyn Stark, philosopher and politician and businessman, nor was he Alyn Stark former captain. That coldness was the voice of the Reciter, emerging for the briefest of moments to silence his friend. There were things he did not discuss lightly or often. Just like that, the tone and look were gone though. "It's hardly just a name, as he says, my dear. It's a name that carries a lot of backing with it these days, earned in no small part through my hard work."

| Ana was slightly shocked at his sudden change of demeanor, and then his seemingly rapid return to his normal self. She wasn't sure if it was something she had said or something Jendos had said. Jendos' words echoed in her mind, however. Who was Alyn's father? She knew nothing of him, aside from the pitifully minute detail that he had told her once, then never spoke of it again.
"I should clean up, perhaps....and let you two talk?"

| Merced cleared his throat into the silence for a moment and then shrugged. "It's your choice, Alyn. There's no need to be ashamed of the past. There's people that admire you and look up to you for guidance and leadership and that's more than enough to erase certain sins of the past. Not everything carries down the years. You're one of the most selfless men I know and that's hard to come by in the galaxy these days."

| "No, no my dear. It's nothing. Sometimes I am too touchy when there is no need to be." Stark favored Ana with a small smile and reached across to squeeze her hand again. "Jendos is right; I am too hard on myself sometimes and it manifests in certain things I do not always speak of. My parentage is perhaps not the best, so I find it a pressing weight often."

| Ana calmed down as he squeezed her hand, a gesture which she returned tenderly. "You have nothing to be ashamed of, Alyn, at all. I could care less who your parents are. I do not even know who my father is, so I understand completely." she said quietly, before she attempted to steer to conversation in a different direction.
"Alyn speaks quite highly of you, Jendos, but he has not told me much about you. Are you married?" She asked before she glanced to Alyn briefly.

| "If only you knew, my love..." Stark allowed the subject change, then. "Jendos? Married? Oh, that will happen when Lorrd turns into a green paradise." He chuckled. "He's quite eligible though. Keeps turning down women left and right, waiting for the right one. It's hard sometimes to find that when everyone knows exactly what you represent."

| Ana shook her head some, smiling only a little. It would have been nice had Jendos been married. A girlfriend other than the lovely, but amazingly deadly Irilia would have been more than welcome. The more she thought about it, she realized she would hardly have time, despite the help she was sure to have after the baby arrived.
"I suppose it is a good thing that I had absolutely no idea who you were that day on Coruscant, then?" she said to Alyn before she gave him a smirk and leaned back in her seat.

| "I do kind of....live here after all." she smiled some and her gaze found Jendos across the table. "This was fun. I am glad Alyn let me give everyone the night off...I'm sure some of them are still lurking around here though. I enjoy doing things for myself, and for him, of course. I hadn't cooked in a good while really." She said as she squeezed Alyn's hand lightly.
"You have asked him to be best man, haven't you Alyn?" She said with a smirk. "I'm sorry if I ruined it, I just assumed....?"

| "I could hardly have not asked him, my love, and dinner was exquisite. It was a true pleasure to have an actual home-cooked meal, so to speak." Full, Stark leaned back for a moment. "We really must do something like this more often; have a good meal and touch bases. That and the simplicity is much part of the enjoyment."

| "I would be more than willing to fix dinner...any time you two want." Alyn would know, surely, that she would be more than happy to do so for him every single evening if he wanted, but he wouldn't let her. Also, she had been so tired over the past few weeks, that she barely had the energy at times. In fact, at the moment, she felt completely run down, but she was enjoying the evening too much to want it to end.
"Jendos....would you care to take a turn about the garden with me? I want to know some of Alyn's secrets...." she smirked as she looked between them. "You don't mind, do you darling?"
